The two highest risk nights for High school students are Prom and Graduation nights. Peer pressure is highest on these two nights and more teens lose their lives on these nights than at any other time of the year.

The philosophy and ideals behind the Grad Nite movement are interlinked with providing an event that is safe, sober, and spectacularly fun. More than "just a party," Grad Nite is a commitment by parents, school and the community to conduct a great, "once in a lifetime" celebration. Grad Nite is a unique and spectacular celebration that is alcohol and drug free. It builds a spirit of togetherness among the graduates as they celebrate with old friends for one last time. A sense of community is developed as everyone works to keep the graduates entertained and safe on potentially the most dangerous night of their lives.

Grad Nite celebrations are succeeding because of the commitment of the parents, the backing of school and local governments, and the generous support of the communities.

This event was started 25 years ago at Temple City High School.  It is organized 100% by volunteers. The party costs about $65,000 and is paid for with tickets sales and fundraisers orgniazed by the Grad Nite Committee. In order to keep the tickets at a reasonable cost and to allow "scholarship" tickets to hardship students, the TCHS Grad Nite Commitee must raise about $25,000 through various fundraisers.

Our Volunteers fundraise, plan and run this event. It is an ALL NIGHT party for approximately 400 Temple City High School Seniors. The students enter the party at 10:00 p.m. the night of Graduation, are checked in to the party with an ID, are given a wristband and are not permitted to leave until 6 am (unless picked up by a parent).

When they arrive, they find their school has been transformed into a fun-filled themed amusement park! There is non-stop food, activities, prizes and entertainment all at NO ADDITIONAL COST!

The theme and theme related props help to create an atmosphere that is unique to this particular class and gives the event a WOW FACTOR! These graduates spend an unforgettable night with their fellow graduates...probably the last night together as a class!
